The BIG canoe is a way of not just traveling through the city, but a slow, romantic way to engage it. We were forced to look for nooks to hook our poles to – it was very demanding physically. It was huge: heavy with thick scrap tires and planks - all found underneath the Queensboro Bridge - a result of private enterprises, who found a cheap way of hiding their waste - perfect for us!

The SMALL canoe was fast and sleek .... dividable into four backpacks, perfect for taking into Manhattan via subway!
